Cathedral of the Deep

  • Three Normal deacons in a room ahead of the doors first leading inside the cathedral.
  • Two Normal deacons wandering before the altar by the Deacons of the Deep boss room.
  • Two Normal deacons pray by the altar, passive until attacked.
  • Unique passive deacon up the ladder of the area reached through the elevator closest to the Cleansing Chapel Bonfire.
  • Deacons of all variants infinitely rise up around Aldrich, Devourer of Gods' coffin in the Deacons of the Deep boss fight.
    • Don't drop souls, and will take increased damage while spawning.

Irithyll of the Boreal Valley

  • Fat deacon, Five Tall deacons, and three Normal deacons past Pontiff Sulyvahn's boss arena, overlooking the area.

  • Thrust: A quick thrust with their candlestick.
  • Delayed Thrust: A delayed thrust with their candlestick.
  • Fireball: Casts a ball of Fire from their candlestick.


  • Thrusts: Raises their candlestick before thrusting.
  • Slam: Raises their candlestick overhead before slamming down.
  • Fireball: Casts a ball of Fire from their candlestick.


  • Right-to-Left Swing: Swings their candlestick right-to-left a single time.
  • Left-to-Right Swing: Swings their candlestick left-to-right a single time.
  • Fireball: Casts a ball of Fire from their candlestick.
  • Force: Casts Force, creating a shockwave that knocks down and deflects some projectiles.
  • Running Thrust: Runs a short distance before thrusting their candlestick.
  • Hug: Runs a short distance and "hugs", dealing damage.


  • Hollow enemy, meaning they take 20% bonus damage from Hollowslayer Greatsword.
  • Susceptible to both Alluring Skulls and Rapport.
  • Normal and Tall deacons can be staggered by rolling into them.
  • The blue armor they wear in some areas is unobtainable.
