… Hawkwood, a deserter from the Undead Legion.

The unique swordsmanship of the Watchers does not normally allow for the use of shields, and Hawkwood's very possession of it was telltale of his defeat.

Location

• Firelink Shrine: Near the bonfire, sitting on the stairs
• Consumed King's Garden: He can be summoned for the Oceiros, the Consumed King fight. His sign is on the platform beyond the toxic swamp. - Only appears once Hawkwood has left the Shrine for good.
• Archdragon Peak: As a summonable phantom. His sign is near the footsteps of the stairs leading to the the Great Belfry bonfire room.

General Information

• Gives the player the Collapse gesture.
• Gives the player a Heavy Gem after defeating Curse-Rotted Greatwood or Crystal Sage.
• Gives the player the Farron Ring after defeating the Abyss Watchers.
• After he leaves Firelink Shrine, shield can be found on a grave outside Firelink Shrine.

Always exhaust the dialogue of Hawkwood to ensure he moves onto each stage of his storyline.

1. Speak to Hawkwood at Firelink Shrine throughout the game. If you continue to do so you'll receive the Collapse gesture.
2. After killing the Abyss Watchers speak to him at Firelink Shrine to receive the Farron Ring.
3. After visiting Archdragon Peak, speak to Blacksmith Andre who tells you to collect 3 Dragon Stones (Dragon Torso Stone, Dragon Head Stone and Twinkling Dragon Torso Stone).
4. Once you have collected the Dragon Stones, head to the Abyss Watchers bonfire in Farron Keep. He will fight you there. If you die to Hawkwood, you will lose the Dragon Stones.
5. Defeating Hawkwood will grant you the Twinkling Dragon Head Stone.

• Twinkling Dragon Torso Stone if he has defeated the player before
