Key Items

Key Items include all items listed in-game in the "Key Items" tab in the player's inventory.

List of Keys

Cell Key	Unlocks Greirat's cell in the High Wall of Lothric.	In the High Wall of Lothric, inside a room of the building next to the Tower on the Wall Bonfire, with several Large Hollow Soldiers and Starved Hounds.
Contraption Key	Unlocks the lever for lowering the staircase in the library behind the Corvian Settlement in the Painted World of Ariandel.	Reward for defeating Sir Vilhelm in the Painted World of Ariandel.
Grand Archives Key	Unlocks the entrance to the Grand Archives.	In the Grand Archives, right in front of the entrance, once three Lords of Cinder are defeated.
Grave Key	Opens the door in the sewer in Undead Settlement that leads to Irina of Carim.	Sold by the Shrine Handmaid for 1,500 Souls, after giving her the Mortician's Ashes.
Jailbreaker's Key	Used to open a shortcut in the Irithyll Dungeon, leading to the lower section of the area.	In Irithyll Dungeon, inside a cell in the hallway that is accessed by traveling through the holes in adjacent cell on the opposing side of the Irithyll Dungeon Bonfire.
Jailer's Key Ring	Opens several cells in the Irithyll Dungeon, including Karla's.	In Irithyll Dungeon, inside a secret passage that can be reached from the Profaned Capital.
Lift Chamber Key	Unlocks the door to the elevator shaft below the Tower on the Wall Bonfire in the High Wall of Lothric.	Received from Ringfinger Leonhard after acquiring a Pale Tongue.
Old Cell Key	Unlocks Siegward of Catarina's cell in the Irithyll Dungeon.	In Irithyll Dungeon, inside a chest by a Mimic in the sewer section.
Tower Key	Unlocks the door to the Bell Tower behind the Firelink Shrine.	Can be bought from the Shrine Handmaid for 20,000 Souls, or dropped by Irina of Carim on death.

Basin of Vows	Initiates the boss fight with the Dancer of the Boreal Valley.	Received after killing High Priestess Emma. Dropped after killing three Lords of Cinder and interacting with Emma.
Blood of the Dark Soul	Can be returned to the Painter.	Reward for defeating Slave Knight Gael.
Champion's Bones	Can be burned at the Firelink Shrine bonfire to unlock Undead Matches.	Reward for defeating the Champion's Gravetender & Gravetender Greatwolf. Obtained by completing Amnesiac Lapp's questline or dropped upon his death.
Coiled Sword	Creates the Firelink Shrine Bonfire.	Reward for defeating Iudex Gundyr.
Dark Sigil	Increases the leveling of Hollowing upon death.	Up to five received when "drawing out true strength" with Yoel of Londor in Firelink Shrine. Three received upon marrying Anri of Astora.
Eyes of a Fire Keeper	Can be given to the Fire Keeper in order to progress towards the End of Fire Ending.	In Untended Graves, inside the dark Firelink Shrine, behind an Illusory Wall.
Fire Keeper Soul	Allows the Fire Keeper to remove the character's Dark Sigils and Hollowing.	In Firelink Shrine, at the top of the tower unlocked by the Tower Key.
Hawkwood's Swordgrass	Informs the player to meet Hawkwood in the Farron mausoleum.	Received from Blacksmith Andre after acquiring the Twinkling Dragon Torso Stone.
Small Doll	Grants passage to Irithyll of the Boreal Valley.	Reward for defeating the Deacons of the Deep.
Small Envoy Banner	Used to access The Ringed City.	In The Dreg Heap, immediately after the Demon Prince, in the building next to the bonfire.
Small Lothric Banner	Used to access the Undead Settlement.	Received after talking to High Priestess Emma.
Sword of Avowal	Used during the Lord of Hollows questline to "marry" Anri of Astora and gain three Dark Sigils.	In Irithyll of the Boreal Valley, received in the Darkmoon Tomb by the Old Woman of Londor whilst progressing through the Lord of Hollows questline.
Transposing Kiln	Can be given to Ludleth of Courland to enable transposition of the twisted souls of bosses.	Reward for defeating the Curse-rotted Greatwood.
Young Grass Dew	Improves the Spear of the Church Spear Soulmass.	Reward for reaching Rank 1 in the Spears of the Church. (Requires 10 Filianore's Spear Ornaments)

Captain's Ashes	Unlocks the Millwood Knight Set, Millwood Greatarrows and Refined Gems (3).	In the Painted World of Ariandel, at the top of a tower guarded by Millwood Knights.
Cornyx's Ashes	Extends the Shrine Handmaid's inventory to include Cornyx of the Great Swamp's.	Dropped by Cornyx of the Great Swamp.
Dragon Chaser's Ashes	Unlocks unlimited Titanite Chunks, Twinkling Titanite, and Titanite Scales, as well as six Embers.	In Archdragon Peak, on the side of building near the Great Belfry Bonfire, guarded by several Serpent-men and Large Serpent-men.
Dreamchaser's Ashes	Unlocks the Life Ring, the Leather Set, the Composite Bow, Feather Arrows, Titanite Shards, Green Blossoms, Black Bug Pellets, Rotten Pine Resins, Gold Pine Resins (3), Gold Pine Bundles (6), Embers (3) and potentially one Hidden Blessing.	In Farron Keep, behind an Illusory Wall near Old Wolf of Farron Bonfire.
Easterner's Ashes	Unlocks Mossfruits, Large Titanite Shards, the Washing Pole, the Eastern Iron Shield, the Eastern Armor Set, Dark Arrows, Onislayer Greatarrows and the Wood Grain Ring	In Irithyll of the Boreal Valley, on a ledge below Anor Londo.
Excrement-covered Ashes	Unlocks Dung Pies, Stalk Dung Pies, Blue Bug Pellets and Blooming Purple Moss Clumps.	In Irithyll of the Boreal Valley, inside the sewer before the kitchen, through the tunnel before the Distant Manor Bonfire.
Grave Warden's Ashes	Unlocks Embers (3), Yellow Bug Pellets, Kukris, Carthus Rouges and Titanite Shards.	In the Catacombs of Carthus, on a broken walkway near the Catacombs of Carthus Bonfire.
Greirat's Ashes	Extends the Shrine Handmaid's inventory to include Greirat of the Undead Settlement's. If these are found in Lothric Castle, they'll also extend the Shrine Handmaid's inventory to include Embers (6), Lightning Urn, Splintering Bolt, and Exploding Bolt.	Dropped by Greirat. In Irithyll of the Boreal Valley inside the sewer near the Distant Manor. In the Grand Archives on a roof.
Hollow's Ashes	Unlocks Rings of Sacrifice (x3), Purging Stones, Poison Throwing Knives.	Dropped by Yoel of Londor. In Untended Graves, at Yoel's spot in the dark Firelink Shrine, if Yoel died from entering Catacombs of Carthus.
Irina's Ashes	Extends the Shrine Handmaid's inventory to include Irina of Carim's.	Dropped by Irina of Carim.
Karla's Ashes	Extends the Shrine Handmaid's inventory to include Karla's.	Dropped by Karla.
Mortician's Ashes	Unlocks Embers (3), Charcoal Pine Resins, Charcoal Pine Bundles, Human Pine Resins (3), Alluring Skulls (6), and the Grave Key.	In the Undead Settlement, inside the graveyard near the White Birch.
Old Woman's Ashes	Extends the Shrine Handmaid's inventory to include the Hag's.	Dropped by the Stone-humped Hag. In The Dreg Heap, in front of The Dreg Heap Bonfire once Slave Knight Gael is defeated.
Orbeck's Ashes	Extends the Shrine Handmaid's inventory to include Orbeck of Vinheim's.	Dropped by Orbeck of Vinheim. In the Grand Archives after Orbeck's questline is completed and the Twin Princes are defeated.
Paladin's Ashes	Unlocks Blooming Purple Moss Clumps (4), Undead Hunter Charms, Duel Charms, the Morning Star, the Crescent Axe, the Canvas Talisman, and Lloyd's Shield Ring.	In Cathedral of the Deep by the Cathedral of the Deep Bonfire, guarded by the Unkindled Fallen Knight.
Patches' Ashes	Extends the Shrine Handmaid's inventory to include Unbreakable Patches'.	Dropped by Unbreakable Patches.
Prisoner Chief's Ashes	Unlocks Rime-blue Moss Clumps, Pale Pine Resins, and Karla's Set.	In Irithyll Dungeon, inside a cell unlocked by the Jailer's Key Ring on the lower level shortly after the Irithyll Dungeon Bonfire.
Xanthous Ashes	Unlocks Gold Pine Resins, Gold Pine Bundles, Young White Branches, and the Xanthous Set (excluding the Xanthous Crown).	In Irithyll Dungeon, on the lower levels where six Jailers are patrolling.
Yuria's Ashes	Extends the Shrine Handmaid's inventory to include Yuria of Londor's, as well as the Black Set.	Dropped by Yuria of Londor.

Sage's Coal	Unlocks Infusion with Crystal Gems, Blessed Gems and Deep Gems.	In Farron Keep, inside a small structure guarded by a Darkwraith.

Carthus Pyromancy Tome	Can be given to Cornyx to add Acid Surge, Carthus Beacon and Carthus Flame Arc to his inventory.	In the Catacombs of Carthus, on a platform near the stair bridge.
Grave Warden Pyromancy Tome	Can be given to Karla to add Black Flame and Black Fire Orb to her inventory.	In the Catacombs of Carthus, in High Lord Wolnir's arena.
Great Swamp Pyromancy Tome	Can be given to Cornyx to add Fire Orb, Bursting Fireball, Poison Mist and Profuse Sweat to his inventory.	On the Road of Sacrifices in the swamp near the Crucifixion Woods Bonfire.
Izalith Pyromancy Tome	Can be given to Cornyx to add Chaos Storm and Great Chaos Fire Orb to his inventory.	In the Smouldering Lake, inside the Demon Ruins.
Quelana Pyromancy Tome	Can be given to Karla to add Fire Whip, Firestorm and Rapport to her inventory.	In the Smouldering Lake, behind an Illusory Wall in the Demon Ruins.

Crystal Scroll	Can be given to Orbeck to unlock Homing Crystal Soulmass, Crystal Soul Spear and Crystal Magic Weapon. May additionally unlock Pestilent Mist and prevent Orbeck from leaving.	Reward for defeating the Crystal Sage in the Grand Archives.
Golden Scroll	Can be given to Orbeck to unlock Twisted Wall of Light, Cast Light, Repair, Hidden Body and Hidden Weapon. May additionally unlock Pestilent Mist and prevent Orbeck from leaving.	In Farron Keep, inside a small cave near the area with infested with Basilisks.
Logan's Scroll	Can be given to Orbeck to unlock Soul Spear and Homing Soulmass. May additionally unlock Pestilent Mist and prevent Orbeck from leaving.	Dropped from the Court Sorcerer in the Profaned Capital.

Londor Braille Divine Tome	Can be given to Irina or Karla to add Vow of Silence, Dark Blade and Dead Again to their inventory.	Can be bought from Yuria of Londor for 50 Souls.
