A Vertebra Shackle is a tool that can be offered at the Sacrificial Altar in the Pit of Hollows to increase the allegiance to the Mound-Makers.

Lore

A special bone collected by members of the covenant of Mound-makers, discovered in the corpses of their victims.

Only one such bone is found in the vertebrae, and the Mound-makers believe it to be a shackle of the gods. In their minds, each victim is another connection, an addition to the family.

Effect

Can be offered at the Sacrificial Altar in the Pit of Hollows in the Undead Settlement to increase the allegiance to the Mound-makers Covenant.

• Received for defeating a Host of Embers or enough phantoms as a Purple Summon or Invader with the Mound-makers equipped.
• Dropped from Mound-makers invading as a Purple Invader.
  • Phantoms summoned as a Purple Summon will not drop a shackle.

Dropped from the mad spirit Holy Knight Hodrick in Undead Settlement.

Notes

• Can be traded with the Nestling for Lucatiel's Mask.
• Most effective offline way to farm is to kill the two Skeleton Swordsmen before the Skeleton Ball by the Catacombs of Carthus Bonfire in the Catacombs of Carthus.
